At 400 gsm through the body, the Thermocore insulation in this Erico puffer is built for genuine cold - the kind of loft you want for standing around outdoors in midwinter rather than a light autumn layer. Yet the outer shell is only 35 gsm nylon 6/6, a military grade fabric with unbreakable weaving that is rain proof and made with non-allergenic dyes, so the jacket stays light and packs down.

The lining is 65 gsm 80% polyester, 20% nylon with a DWR finish. A drawcord hood and a second drawcord in the hem let you close off gaps, the zipper runs behind a wind flap, and hidden ribknit lines the open hem cuffs.

Two zip waist pockets outside; inside, two mesh pockets, a zip chest pocket, two open chest pockets and a shoulder strap.
