PERSONALIZED CRAFTSMANSHIP

Custom Satin Jackets

Satin is the most expressive outerwear fabric we work with. It takes colour with a depth matte cloth can't reach, catches light as you move, and is the natural ground for embroidery, chain-stitch lettering and patches. Which is why so few satin jackets off the rack are what anyone wants - the colour is close but not right, the lettering says someone else's name, or the cut is a boxy one-size-fits-most bomber.

Made to order, it becomes a specific object: your colour, your artwork, your proportions. It's what people come to us for when the jacket has a job to do - a team, a crew, a wedding party, or simply a piece nobody else owns.

Where the character comes from

Three decisions define a satin jacket more than anything else:

  • The body colour. Satin's sheen makes a colour read lighter in direct light and deeper in shadow. A photograph or reference is more useful to us than a colour name.
  • The rib trim. Collar, cuffs and hem in a contrasting or tonal rib, plain or striped. This is what makes a bomber read classic, sporty or minimal - the simplest way to change the whole feeling of the jacket.
  • The artwork. Chest lettering, back design, sleeve patches, embroidery or appliqué. Placement and scale matter as much as the design.

Full specification list

  • Cut and fit - close, regular or oversized, with body and sleeve length to your measurements
  • Colour of body, sleeves and rib trim
  • Closure - snap front, zip or button
  • Lining - lightweight, or quilted for genuine warmth
  • Pockets - welt, slash or flap, plus inside
  • Collar - ribbed band, or shirt-style for a different silhouette
  • Embroidery, chain-stitch lettering, patches and appliqué, positioned as you want
  • Personalisation - a name, initials on a cuff, a date inside

Satin and varsity construction overlap, so if you're picturing contrast sleeves and collegiate lettering see varsity jackets too. For the wider range we build to order, see custom jackets and bomber jackets.

Getting the fit you actually want

Satin bombers are worn across a huge range of fits, from cropped and close to deliberately oversized, so measurements alone don't tell us enough. Send the numbers - chest, shoulder seam to seam, sleeve from shoulder point to wrist, back length from nape to hem - then describe the look in plain words: "fitted, ends at the belt" or "boxy, drops past the hip". Those two jackets can share a chest measurement and look nothing alike.

The rib hem pulls in at the waist, so the body needs room above it to blouson. Say what you'll wear underneath too - a hoodie changes the sizing. Our measuring guide covers the technique; the method is the same whatever the fabric.

Ordering, step by step for your satin jacket

  1. Share the concept. Colours, trim, artwork or sketches, and the fit you have in mind.
  2. Artwork and spec review. We confirm colours, placement, sizes and measurements back to you. Nothing changes after approval without agreement.
  3. Handcrafted to order. The jacket is cut to your pattern and the decoration applied.
  4. Dispatch. Made-to-measure orders typically take around 3-5 weeks; standard sizes ship in roughly 5-10 working days. Shipping is on us for US express orders; international rates are quoted at checkout.

Things worth knowing first

Can custom satin jackets be returned?

Not under the standard 7-day window. A jacket cut to your measurements and carrying your artwork can't be sold to anyone else, so custom orders are handled by alteration rather than refund. Take your time at approval - that's when changes are free. Detail on shipping and returns.

Can you reproduce a logo or design I send?

We can work from your own artwork, but won't reproduce trademarks, team badges or brand marks you don't own the rights to. Send the highest resolution file you have - vector gives the cleanest embroidery.

How warm is a satin jacket?

Honestly, it's a transitional piece by default - light and windproof rather than insulating. For real cold, ask for a quilted lining, or consider leather or shearling from our leather jackets. Whichever you choose, the construction carries our lifetime stitch guarantee.

How do I care for it?

Satin marks more readily than leather and embroidery dislikes rough handling. Wash cold or dry clean depending on the lining, hang rather than fold, keep it from direct heat. The stitching carries lifetime backing.
