PERSONALIZED CRAFTSMANSHIP
Custom Denim Jackets
The denim jacket has one of the most familiar shapes in clothing and one of the worst hit rates on the rack. The reason is structural: a trucker is short, boxy and cut close through the chest, so the gap between right and wrong is an inch or two. Broad shoulders force you up a size and the body turns into a tent. Long arms strand the cuffs at your forearm. A long torso leaves the hem sitting above the belt.
Decide the silhouette first
"Denim jacket" covers several shapes, so it helps enormously to name the one you mean:
- Classic trucker — short, squared hem, close through the chest, sitting at the waistband.
- Slim or tailored — the same shape taken in through body and sleeve, worn as a layer rather than over them.
- Relaxed or oversized — dropped shoulder, fuller body, longer hem. Deliberately roomy, not accidentally too big.
- Longer-bodied — hem carried over the hip, useful if the standard length has never worked on you.
- Chore or shirt-jacket — patch pockets, no tabs, a softer line.
A reference photo does more work here than any adjective. If a jacket you own is close, say what you would change.
Measurements that matter
A denim jacket is worn over things, so start by putting on what you will normally wear underneath — a tee gives a different jacket from a chunky knit. Then take:
- Chest, around the fullest point, tape level and arms down.
- Shoulder width, from one shoulder seam point across the back to the other.
- Sleeve length, from the shoulder point down a slightly bent arm to the wrist bone.
- Waist, where the hem band will sit — this is what stops the jacket flaring.
- Back length, nape of the neck down to that hem point.
Send body measurements, not garment measurements, and say which. We add the ease for your silhouette — if you add it too, the jacket comes out a size large. The measuring guide shows each one being taken.
What you can specify
Denim and finish
Weight first: a lighter denim for a soft everyday jacket, a heavier one that holds its shape and breaks in over months. Then the wash — raw, rinsed, mid-blue, stonewashed, black or ecru. Raw denim fades to your own creases, which is either the whole point or a nuisance. Say which.
Details for your denim jacket
Pocket configuration: chest flaps, hand-warmer slash pockets, and interior pockets where you want them. Button style and hardware finish. Cuff and waistband tab adjustment. Collar shape, and stitching colour — traditional gold contrast, or tonal. Lining left out, quilted for warmth, or printed where only you will see it.
Leather and shearling trim
This is where a denim jacket becomes genuinely yours. A leather collar, cuffs, yoke panels or pocket flaps change the whole register of the piece. Lambskin gives a soft, light trim; cowhide a firmer one; suede a matte contrast. A shearling collar, or a full lining, turns a three-season jacket into winter outerwear. The types of leather guide is worth reading first.

Honest answers
Can I return it?
Stock pieces carry a 7-day return window; a jacket cut to your measurements does not. Custom orders follow different terms, and the remedy for a fit issue is alteration rather than a refund. That is why we confirm every measurement in writing first. See shipping and returns.
Will raw denim shrink?
Unwashed denim can shrink on its first wash. Tell us whether you want it pre-shrunk or left raw and we size accordingly — it changes the pattern, so decide before cutting.
