Custom Leather Wallets
A wallet is the one leather item you handle several times a day, and the one most often bought as a compromise. Too many card slots and it sits in your pocket like a brick. Too few and you are folding receipts into the note section. The bill pocket is sized for dollars when you spend in euros. None of these are quality problems - they are fit problems, and fit is exactly what a custom order fixes.
Count your cards first
Before anything else, empty your current wallet and sort the contents into what you use weekly, what you use occasionally, and what you have been carrying for no reason. Build the wallet around the first two piles. Most people need noticeably fewer slots than they assume, and a slimmer wallet is a better wallet. Send us those counts and we will design to them rather than to a default.
Choosing a format
The shape decides how the wallet lives in your pocket:
- Bifold - the familiar workhorse. Good capacity, sits fine in a jacket, bulkier in a back pocket.
- Slim card holder - four to eight cards and folded notes. Front-pocket friendly.
- Long or travel wallet - notes flat and unfolded, room for boarding passes and a passport.
Details you control
- Number and arrangement of card slots, including quick-access slots on the outside
- Bill pocket depth sized to your currency - euro and sterling notes are taller than US bills, and a single-currency wallet can be cut cleaner than a universal one
- A coin pouch, or deliberately none
- Leather weight - thinner for a wallet that stays slim, heavier for one that holds its shape and ages hard
- Exterior and interior in different colours, plus stitch and edge-paint colour
- Personalisation options such as initials, where available for the leather and finish you choose. Ask when you enquire and we will confirm what can be done on your specific build rather than promising something the hide will not take.
Which hide for a wallet
Wallets live under constant friction and flexing, so the hide matters more than its small size suggests. Full-grain cowhide is the classic: it starts firm, softens with handling, and takes on a patina that makes an old wallet look better than a new one. Goatskin brings a fine pebbled grain and is both supple and hard-wearing - a good pick if you dislike a stiff break-in period. Lambskin feels wonderful and is very soft, but it is the most easily marked; choose it knowing it will show its life quickly. - Send your card and note counts, the format you want, and any colour or personalisation request.
- We write the specification back to you - slot layout, dimensions, hide, thread, finishing - and confirm what personalisation is possible.
- You approve it, and the wallet is cut, stitched and edge-finished by hand. We back the stitching for life.
- Made-to-measure pieces normally ship in about 3-5 weeks. We cover express delivery throughout the USA; overseas rates are added at checkout.

Can a personalised wallet be returned?
No, and this is the point worth understanding clearly. Our 7-day return window applies to standard stock items. A wallet made to your layout - and especially one carrying initials - cannot be resold to anyone else, so custom orders are handled through alteration rather than refund.
