At 400 gsm, the Thermocore fill in the Erico is the heaviest in its class here, and the payoff is serious cold-weather warmth from a shell that weighs almost nothing. That outer is 35 gsm nylon in 6/6 military grade fabric with unbreakable weaving, rain proof, over a 65 gsm polyester and nylon lining with a durable water repellent finish. It is packable too, so it compresses down for travel or stashing in a bag.

The hood and hem both adjust by drawcord, cuffs are open hem with hidden ribknit, and the zipper sits behind a wind flap. Outside there are two zipped waist pockets. Inside, two mesh pockets, a zipped chest pocket, two open chest pockets and a shoulder strap.
